"In April 1985, Prince and the Revolution were soon to wrap up their mega Purple Rain tour. Most fans know that before the concerts started, the band would go through a few hours of soundcheck, where Prince would often use this as an occasion to try out new material. What I have here is a soundcheck dated April 5, 1985 in Lakeland, Florida at the Lakeland Civic Center Arena. The centerpiece of this soundcheck is the rehearsal of an unreleased song called "Someone 2 Call". For 45 minutes, Prince teaches the band this song, giving instructions between singing the verses. No information is known about this song and it isn't known if a studio version exists or if it was ever was worked on again after this day, which makes this a super rare song. I was given a copy of the soundcheck on cassette by a former bandmember. I have included a picture of the cassette in the photo just for proof. But what you will receive is a copy of this soundcheck on cd, ripped directly from the cassette. The audio is excellent quality, taken from the soundboard.
