Sound Quality: Excellent. Time: 0:03
A snippet from the vocal overdub mono mix were the backing track is sped up and
Jimi is talking normally to achieve the slowed vocal effect found on the original

02. Fire Take 5 (S1476-77) (90) – Sound Quality: Excellent. Time: 3.07
The fifth monaural unfinished take in two parts. All sources stop abruptly
around the 1:50 mark and continues on after a few seconds of silence. After two
more quick dropouts, track continues seamlessly to end. Here, the silence and the

03. The Wind Cries Mary (S1065) (3) – Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 3:30
A complete instrumental mix in stereo. Recorded January 11, 1967.

04. Remember Take 5 (S1490) (7) - Sound Quality: Excellent. Time: 3:05
Fifth monaural instrumental with studio chat and tune-ups removed from
the end of the track. Recorded February 8, 1967. Edited by Willjamz.

05. I Don’t Live Today (S1063) (3) - Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 4:17
An alternate mix of the official mono release with double tracked vocals.
The original track has a gap at approximately the 1:28 mark followed quickly
by another shorter one. Here, they have been removed.

06. Manic Depression (S1493) (12) – Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 4:33
The second alternate backing track in mono. This is a complete runthough.

07. Red House Take 4 (S1057) (5) – Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 3:52
Take 4 in stereo which is complete and considered to be an alternate mix with no
echo on the guitar as found in later official releases. Recorded March 29, 1967.

08. La Pouppee Qui Fait Non (S1058) (?) – Sound Quality: Excellent. Time 3:41
This is the stereo instrumental mix. Recorded March 29, 1967.

09. Cat Talkin’ To Me (S1024) (2) – Sound Quality: Good: 2:47
The complete instrumental mix which appears to be in narrow stereo.

The complete mix which appears to be in narrow stereo featuring Mitch Mitchell

Also known as Look Over Yonder which Jimi would take back into the
studio in 1968 and rework it with a massive amount of guitar overdubs.
This is the official mix with reverb on the vocals and includes tamborine.

12. Taking Care Of No Business (S627) (1) – Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 3:58
The monaural mix with horn overdubs and different crowd vocals.

13. The Stars That Play With Laughing Sam’s Dice (S271) (1)
Sound Quality: Good. Time: 4:02
The monaural instrumental acetate version. Take is unknown but does feature
multiple guitar overdubs. Recorded June 28, 1967.

14. Little Miss Lover (S265) (3) – Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 2:19.
The monaural Emidisc acetate identified by the whistling during the drum intro,
sightly different lyrics, and guitar lead as compared to the official mixes. Being the
earliest known version, there is a possiblity that this was recorded at Houston
Studios in Los Angeles, California back on June 28th. Documented
recording date is considered to be October 1, 1967.

15. Angel (S1454) (7) – Sound Quality: Excellent. Time: 2:43
The early instrumental in stereo with Jimi And Mitch only.
Recorded October 14, 1967.

16. Little Wing (S1540) (16) – Sound Quality: Excellent. Time: 3:26
The alternate instrumental take. October 25, 1967.

A monaural mix with different lead guitar overdubs than found on
(S880) (2). A cowbell is also on this track as part of the percussion.

21. Burning Of The Midnight Lamp (S?) (?)
Sound Quality: Very Good. Time: 1:42
Two incomplete alternate takes once thought recorded on July 6th but now
believed to have been recorded on June 28, 1967. The extended silence between
