The 18 disc Studio Magik set from Godfather Records is an (almost) complete collection of every Zep studio outtake that exists. I say almost because a few extra outtakes have turned up since its release such as an early mix of Boogie With Stu and South Bound Saurez, both of which are excellent.
However, the set is a hefty tome and while being an excellent archive, it isn't exactly something that most would listen to from cover to cover. Some discs have over 40 minutes of guitar doodles that are not exactly designed to entertain and contain some very rough playing. The set also contains multiple takes and mixes of tracks which are almost indistinguishable from each other or the released version.

Therefore, I decided to create a slimmed-down compilation that Page could have released alongside the super deluxe versions of the studio albums almost a decade ago.
I haven't included any Studio Magik tracks which turned up in identical or improved quality on Page's super deluxe box sets so this can be treated as a complementary release to those 2014-15 remasters, perhaps even as extra discs for Coda, turning that particular box into a huge Beatles-style studio Anthology.
It is ordered pretty much chronologically but because exact recording dates are unknown I have grouped the Led Zep III acoustic stuff together and followed the song order of the original albums where possible.
If I've included more than one take of the same track, it is due to those different takes being an invaluable insight into the song's development and the band's creative process. I have mainly avoided including short incomplete takes which break down.
