Michael Jackson - Smile (1997)
Completed And Unreleased
Encoded: 320 Kbps MP3

In 1997 Michael Jackson recorded 'Smile' for inclusion on the 'HIStory' compilation, with the intention of releasing it as a single to promote the album. The release was cancelled at the last minute, and all of the pressings of 'Smile' (both CD maxi-singles and 12" records) were withdrawn and destroyed just days before the release date, save a few that managed to escape, making this one of the rarest Jackson collectors items of all time.
This song was written based on an instrumental theme used in the soundtrack for Charlie Chaplin's 1936 film 'Modern Times'.

Written by Charlie Chaplin, John Turner, and Geoffrey Parsons. This song was produced by David Foster and Michael Jackson and is 4 minutes and 56 seconds in length. There were plans for a music video but it was scrapped. The single for the song was also cancelled but only 200 copies were made. it's one of the rarest Michael Jackson singles.

"Smile" was Michael Jackson's favorite song in his life, said one of Michael's closest friends Brooke Shields at his Memorial Service. The song "Smile" was the theme music for Charlie Chaplin‘s final silent picture Modern Times in 1936, composed by Charlie Chaplin.

Jermaine Jackson sang "Smile" at Michael Jackson's Memorial Service.
