Soundboard Working Copy Recordings
24-Bit/96kHz FLAC Level 8 & MP3@320 Kbps
Lineage: Acetate > WAV 32-bit float 96 kHz > WAV 24/96 (GoldWave volume raised, ticks/pops removed, safe dither down) > FLAC Level 8
This acetate labelled as February 13, 1976 (and apparently once the property of Norman Sheffield) is a working copy of the audio for the Live At The Rainbow film that dropped later in 1976. The previous version that was posted by Ghostofasmile on QZ had severe hiss reduction done, leaving it with a tinny sound. This is the raw transfer with the sound intact.
There is little doubt this is a compilation of both nights at the Rainbow (plus vocal overdubs done in the studio). There are a few slight differences between this and the official releases and the film, mainly in the stage banter. The large cut in Father To Son indicates that the medley idea is afoot in the editing process by this point.
The original file was 32-bit float, which FLAC does not support. I safely dithered it down to 24/96 with no quality loss in order to do the conversion.
